I understnad the methods work well from people I know who took the classes. This will give you the basis but I found it hard to try learn from the book itself but then I am a hands on learnere.

  • It's difficult but well worth the effort.
The first time I read this book, it was such a daunting task I put down and saved it for a time when my intelligence was ready to 'understand' the instructions. • stolen ideas
EVERY idea in this book originated in the books of F.M. Alexander. Feldenkrais was a student of his Alexander Technique, then set out to establish some exercises based on Alexander's principles and claimed the ideas as his own! He gives no credit to Alexander, even though all the philosophy of how we tend to live our lives is directly Alexander's discoveries. If you are interested in this book, I highly recommend that you check out some books on the Alexander Technique.
