A core text
This text was prescribed reading for the course in Neuropsychological Assessment during my post-graduate studies in psychology. It is comprehensive, and a fundamental text for the area. I consult it constantly when testing: one can become a little relaxed and forget the fundamentals. Complaints? It is a little out of date with regards to tests that are out there for examining different neuropsychological functions. You would need an additional text for this, such as Spreen and Strauss.

Neuropsychological Assessment
This is a brilliant book. A must have for anyone doing psychometric testing!

Best thing going
this book is the seminal work in the field, in my opinion. the book is very comprehensive and well-organized, and you don't have to be a neuropsychologist to understand or use it. it is a great reference for therapists and patients alike who are looking for an increased understanding of brain function and behavior. of course, it is also an excellent resource on conducting neuropsychological testing and can help practitioners of all sorts make a more educated guess regarding the need for assessment/referral.

Lezak's Neuropsychological Assessment
Highly recommended! If there is one indispensable text in the field of Clinical Neuropsychology this is it, both for the practicing neuropsychologist and the student. As with the previous editions this text really has no equal in the field. It is the reference I pull most frequently from my bookshelf.
