  This book compiles 6 of the new issues of the "What if". Despite this being new, it has what ifs that involve old storylines. In fact 4 of the 6 stories involve the origin storylines of the heroes.
  What if Karen Page had lived?: Some say, Daredevil's true love was Elektra but it was really Karen Page. She like Elektra was killed by Bullseye when he throws Daredevil's weapon into Karen's heart, killing her. But what if she was a bit to the left or the right, and the weapon puntured a lung instead of her... more info

• Great read & very well designed stories!
  What If...stories tend to have second rate art and low page counts, but these imaginary tales are great, especially the alternate take on Spider-Man.
  Bendis inserts himself as "The Watcher in a diner" to narrate his two entries, one about Daredevil ("What if Karen Page Had Not Died?") and the other about Jessica Jones (What if...Joined the Avengers"). I'm not a Bendis fan and have not read much of his work, so it was great to get a quick recap on the characters and the stories showed the effect on the... more info

  Collecting the various new age one shots of Marvel's classic What If series, this TPB contains some sadly disappointing and floundering work. Featuring alternate reality stories by Brian Michael Bendis, Ed Brubaker, Peter David, Chris Claremont, and Karl Kesel, the stories contain solid art throughout, but for the theme being "what if?" scenarios in the Marvel universe, it's pretty amazing just how predictable some of these stories turn out to be.
