Systematic Approach 
This book provided a good program for overcoming sleep prevention issues. It seemed a little more complicated then it needs to be, but provided some good reference material for my sleeping aid CD You are Getting Very Sleepy. This book can help those suffering from sleeplessness to gauge their progress.

Highly recommended 
Until I read this book I was struggling with a recent bout of insomnia. Little did I know that I was doing everything to make it worse: trying to get to bed earlier; sleeping in late; taking long naps; ruminating before going to bed; etc. Jacobs explain clearly, by educating the reader on the physiology of sleep, among other things, how all of the above beahviors make matters worse.
