• Great Reference
  I need this book for a class in Chinese Herbal Medicine. I'm excited about it and it's companion Formulas and Strategies. Pretty neat. Hard to find a comparible resource of it's type. It lists hundreds of herbs and their nature.

  Pro: very comprehensive, good for those who need all the information
  Con: very comprehensive, too much detail violates the spirit of Oriental Medicine

• Great resource
  This text is required for my TCM program to earn my acupuncture degree. I've found it to be one of my favorite textbooks that I've had to buy so far. Its informative, clearly organized, and thorough. Information on the herbs include the properties, a picture, main functions organized in order of importance, and some interesting 'comments' about them as well. All the herbs are organized by category. My only complaint is how heavy it is to carry to class but what can you do? It should hopefully be the only... more info

• Good Information, but embarrassingly full of printing errors
  While the information is excellent, there are so many printing errors that it is laughable. How could so many mistakes make it into publication, especially at the price charged? I hope future editions can rectify this seemingly easy problem, again before it sold as a product.
