Powerful 
I am in my 8th year of facilitating HoH in a Women's Federal Prison in Canada. The program is evaluated by the participants at the end of every 10 week/30 hour program. I have yet to be aware of one participant who has not found the book or the program to far exceed their expectations in terms of relevance and helpfulness. Amazing Work 
Houses of Healing makes the premise that behind every mask we wear in dealing with life, there is an essence of our Higher Self waiting to be acknowledged and respected. Robin Casarjian's amazing work facilitates this transformation to occur within the intense setting of a prison. White Male Professor at a Women's Prison 
I have been a teacher of the emotional literacy course that has evolved from this book at a NYS prison for women every year since 1999. Waste of Money and Time 
As part of my job, I read this book because I had heard so much about it. It was not only a disappointment, but also a waste of my time. I could not believe the drivel it contained. The writing is so poor that the text is actually difficult to follow, and, to top it all off, the concepts are so trite, hackneyed and saccharine that following the text yields nothing. No insight, no information, no enhanced awareness. Nothing. I am at a loss to explain the good word of mouth this paperback has received except... more info
