Curious Incident
I didn't know what to expect when I read Curious Incident. I am a special education teacher and am often skeptical when I see a main character with a disability. It is so difficult to represent a character with a disability that often times, the character is not portrayed in a realistic manner. I was especially skeptical when I read that the main character was Autistic. Being a spectrum disorder, Autism is a disability that is difficult to "stereotype". An interesting way to write a book
The book is written from the eyes of an autistic child. I find it an innovative point of view, but it gets old quickly since he blabbers on about insignificant details. The character reminds me of a beloved young man, a student of mine, with asberger's syndrom. Best job in the world.
Loved the book, this was my third copy because I keep giving it... more info
