  I got these books as a gift for a young boy just learning to read. He had an interest in them from the illustration. I read them all and found them very enjoyable. It was so much fun to read and very engaging. I bought him all 5 and I enjoyed every one. I do recommend reading them in order.
  The design was well thought out. They are small enough for a child to hold and the pages are rough edged so the book looks like it is hand made and also well made. Love it!

  It is an useful guide book for fans in observing the fantastical creature in Spiderwick's Novel series. There are totally 31 kinds of creatures distributing in 6 regions in this book. All the images are delicate and vivid with clear description. I believe this guide can help you investigate the mystery and inspire the imagination of this world.

• Notebook for Fantastical Observations
  My 8 yr old is reading the Spiderwick Chronicles box set I purchased from Amazon and I knew the Notebook would be something she'd like. In the Notebook she's able to write stories and there is room to add to stories already being told - sketching Dragons - fairies.. She tells me she wants to complete the series before getting into the Notebook but I don't think it's a must. Anyone who enjoys reading the Spiderwick Chronicles will enjoy it. It's not essential but it's a nice addition.
