Totally "upscale" and "eye-candy"
I use my pepper-ball and salt-ball right in my tablesetting ... my dinner-guests never fail to comment on the upscale look and convenience, so it has been "eye-candy" and adds to the drama when I serve crisp salads, etc. Part of the meal is being able to allow your guests the opportunity to season as they wish. I dunno, but I would also like to see the same design to allow diners to embellish plates in the same manner with grated cheese and also one for dessert-toppings that would add crushed pecans,... more info

WHIMSICAL AND WORKABLE
This nifty gadget allows me to grind salt with one hand as I cook. And, it's a fun addition to a dining table with its very contemporary rather whimseical design. The handles that you grip are padded thus ergonomically friendly and enable gripping without slipping. A dial selector on the base of the salt ball provides options for coarseness of grind, and it comes equipped with a refull funnel. Plus, it comes filled with salt. This is one grind I'll never mind! Thanks, Chef'n! - Gail Cooke

Very Slow...
This salt mill fell way below my expectations and needs. It was almost impossible to mill the salt finely. The salt would clog up and require us to hit the mill against our hands to resume the grinding. I accidently dropped it into my food when milling and could not clean it out at all because the food seeped up inside the mill and there is no way to take it apart and clean it.
