  • Good product
This works really good. The hard part is to remember to turn the microphone on/off. Good purchase.

  • Better than a Built-In Microphone...
It's decent enough, but it's not quite the mike I expected.
The foot isn't very well insulated, so when the mike is mounted on the camera it picks up a fair bit of electronic hum. I was under the impression that the mike had an automatic zoom feature- it zooms, but it's manual. Plus it isn't powered off the camera- extra batteries are required.

The mic pics up the camera motor sound. Fortunately I can edit that out for the most part.
I have a DCR-HC1000. The camera has a smart shoe... why doesn't Sony make a mic (other than the shotgun mic which... more info
