  This Jerdon lighted makeup mirror works very well. As was mentioned in previous reviews, it is necessary to hold the ON button down for a slow count of 8, then release, for the lights to come on. Unlike the instructions printed on the product, the lights on mine do not flicker before coming on. This mirror replaces a similar product by Windmere that I had used for 15 years.   I purchased this mirror several months ago and use it every day. I am very pleased with it. The lights are bright enough to be able to see well in a pitch-dark room, the settings are perfect for getting rid of pesky shadows, and the magnification is just right to see every little detail. I have not had any issue with the bulbs - they are still as bright and functional as they day I got the mirror (yes, you do have to hold down the 'on' switch for a few seconds to pre-charge the bulbs).
