  The quality of the construction is kind of flimsy and not too impressive. Although, it works just great. Just be careful when you are frying, the lid is down and you reach for the handle to raise the basket. There is a small gap at the top where the handle meets the fryer. You can get scalded because the heat and steam rise up through that gap and if you do not hold you hand and thumb back a tiny bit further, that steam will get you. And....a disappointment about it is----it says that it has quick reheat... more info

  I bought this deep fryer so that the scent could be contained very well and it worked well. I like the fact that you can actually clean every part that the oil comes into contact with by taking it apart. It can fry stuff very quickly and evenly without turning all the time. I will advice you to go for it because it does not look cheap like most of those i see on the shelves.

  Love this CoolDaddy fryer! Before I purchased a fryer, I read all the reviews here at Amazon and finally decided on this fryer.
  Right after we received the fryer here, hubby decided to try it out. Now he always has at least 'one' negative comment about anything I buy so was waiting for that comment to happen. Nope..never did. He just raved how GREAT it was and still does every time he uses it. • Returned--cannot recommend-poor quality-defective
  Since others have given a basic description of this fryer, I'll skip all of that and tell you why I returned it. One of the reasons that I decided on this fryer was the ability to close the cover while raising and lowering food into and out of the oil to prevent splattering hot oil all over the counter. The basket in the unit that I received could not be raised or lowered with the top cover latched. Once the cover was closed the mechanism for releasing the basket assembly was inoperable.
