Cingular sucks whatever it is called!
This is my second contract with Cingular/now-AT&T. When I had Cingular 4 years ago I was very dissatisfied with my connection in NYC. Then I went to T-Mobile and it was perfectly fine.
Now I went to AT&T for a good deal on the phone and I regret! Besides all that agressive advertisement the truth is AT&T sucks! I feel upset when my friends talk on their phones in-doors, in evevator, etc. and I have to go outside and search for signal.

Why all the complaining? It's not bad at all by me !!!
I suppose I've been lucky--I live in the NYC metropolitan area so my roaming charges are nil. However, I still have to watch my minutes. I get 450 anytime minutes; and AT&T allows me 5,000 off-peak minutes during weekday nights from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. and all day Saturday and Sunday. It's important to note that weekday evenings factor into the 5,000 total off peak minutes time. They're not truly "free!" I use my phone mostly for the times when I travel and I cannot get to a public pay phone.... more info

You can do better elsewhere.
What's AT&T like? Lots of dropped calls, constant "spend more" text messages to your phone, lousy customer service and being nickel-and-dimed for every feature, like voice-dial. Ever wonder why 20% of customers churn to other plans every two years? Compared to Europe, all cellular service bites it, thanks to these ridiculous contracts. No motivation to retain customers. AT&T is just the biggest, far from the best.

happy with this service, but ...
This is the package I have from Cingular and I am happy with it. Cingular has a very good signal in the places I use my cellphone and I have gotten very good voice quality and no dropped calls.
Most of the people I talk to are on cingular too so I can use mobile-to-mobile calls. Be are through that the free unlimited mobile-to-mobile calls only applies during day hours. During nightime (9 pm to 6 am) and on weekends, all mobile-to-mobile calls are deducted from your 5,000 night/weekend... more info
