  I didn't need a machine this powerful,I bought it on the basis of it's low price. The mixer arrived faster than I expected (thanks Amazon) with two tiny scratches on pan lift arms caused by the pan not being secured correctly during shipping. I definately can live with miniscule marks and otherwise machine looks and operates like brand new. Mixer cost's $420 new and I paid $150 refurbished.   Kitchen aid has tremendous reputation for quality mixers. This rebuilt mixer was everything a new mixer would be but a couple of hundred bucks cheaper. I use it every week to make bread. I don't think anyone could the difference between this and a brand new mixer.

  KitchenAid Mixers are a classic, and their quality is why. A reconditioned mixer should be of the same quality as a new one, barring a minor cosmetic issue. (Mine was.) I figured I would save money, get the mixer I had always wanted, and it would come pre-nicked somewhere, as everything seems to get a nick in my kitchen! I couldn't be happier, and bought one for my mother as well, who really LOVES hers, and it replaced one lost 30 years ago in a move.
