• Nice unit
  This is a nice, affordable high-def unit. Although it's "only" 1080i, the picture looks extremely good. I've watched various movies after upgrading the internal firmware. No issues with playback.
  It's also an excellent upscaling DVD player.
  I have two of these. I plan to keep watching HD content for a long time. HD-DVD discs are a lot cheaper than Blu-Ray discs at the moment, and so are the players. You can easily find this one nowadays for about $100. Very much worth it.

  Love the unit but it is worthless now. I would not be surprised to see a class action suit against Toshiba. I will not buy Toshiba products ever again.

  Toshiba hd dvd player a2, wow what can i say, I own a sony wega 50" television that is 2 years old now. I just purchased this thinking well the hd dvd players are going out from this company, was it worth it, I pondered it all day yesterday before opening the box. Going to bestbuy to get some hd dvd's well they were shipped back to the warehouses, so i went to the used dvd place and they had 7 of them that i bought plus another 2 at walmart, plus i'd say 3 or 4 on here, i put in a couple... more info

  $50 gift card necessary for customer goodwill...format war was settled well before many of us consumers purchased these players yet these manufacturers and retailers like Amazon, Best Buy,Circuit City and the like took advantage of the consumer.Foster and Martin know nothing!
