• Not Just for Youth
  I have yet to see the musical SPRING AWAKENING (but am planning to see it February 2009 when it comes to the Fox in St. Louis). However, I have a friend whose favorite musical is SPRING AWAKENING and he recently gave me the soundtrack to listen to. I have to admit that I really enjoy it. The songs are sung in a variety of genres, but mainly have a pop-rock ballad feel to them.   So basically there are too many reviews for me to actually make a substantial comment about this CD that other people haven't.
  I've seen the show around 10 times in the last 2 months. Enough said. As a 19 year old it is something wonderful and fresh for me to watch. The show and the score have a message to deliver - every single time you click play on this CD you can delve further into it uncovering themes and messages you may have missed the past 201392 times you listened to it. • Just another... "Awakening"
  Spring Awakening is a great show. Its catchy/rock tunes can keep me going for hours. BUT, if your thinking about sitting along with elders listening to your new musical you've just bought and this happens to be playing.... think again! This musical which sounds to be wrapped around the lives of teens should stay just with teens themselves. • Monotonous Garbage
  No one under the age of 25 is going to agree with me, but who cares. I think it's great they finally have a show about teens on Broadway, but to be this cliche', with so little if anything to say, uninteresting with a score poorly written is just a real pity. I suppose it's a start, but as far as speaking and expounding on youth, take me to HAIR any day over this.
