• DeMille Hits Rock Bottom
  I have vivid memories of seeing "Samson & Delilah" (1949) as a child and
  thinking at the time that it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Since then however - and to use a well worn cliche - I have put away childish things - and after watching it again just recently I am compelled to say how stupefied I was by the witlessness, banality and sheer awfulness of it all. How in God's name I could have in any way liked this movie - child or not - I am without an explanation for it is mind... more info
