• Not one of Hitch's masterpieces
  Rebecca (1940) is the only film directed by Alfred Hitchcock that won an Oscar as best picture and it is also his first american film. It certainly has many of Hitch's trademarks (the opening sequence for example)but imho it is an overrated film, the performances are dull with the exceptcion of Judith Anderson`s role and the script is weak. Suspicion , Notorius , Strangers on a Train are by far better films in which the Master of Suspense displays all his genius. Sincerely I expected a more interesting... more info

  Love this classic black and white! Would definitely recommend it for late night viewing..

  You know, you cannot compare older movies to today's movies. There was more substance. I have always like this movie about Rebecca. There are very few movies by Alfred Hitchcock that I do not like.

  I have seen this movie a hundred times,and every time it's like the first time.This is one of my favorite Alfred Hitchcock movie.Picture was clear sound was great,excellent quality.
