Movie, of course. Art, most defintetly!
This movie is an art film. Watch closely and perhaps you can pick-up on the film's expression. You have to look beyond, and deeper, than the action, the story, the man, Jesse James, and the cowboy theme. This movie expresses the grand writing style of Ron Hansen's novel, of the same title, and the direction of Andrew Dominik. Spend time and allow this film to communicate to you its finer qualities.

I have watched one Jesse James movie before and no matter who may or may not agree with me for me this... more info
