• An excellent receiver for the money
  My only complaint about this excellent receiver is that if you are using the display on the receiver, you can not always see the complete message that would be displayed if you were using the HDMI connections and seeing the display on your TV. I have an older rear projection HD ready set with no HDMI connectors. I had incorrectly hooked up one of the speakers, but couldn't see which one on the receiver display. I would have seen immediately that it was the center speaker if I were utilizing the full display... more info

• Overheating and Humming Problem
  The sound on this unit is fantastic. It's too bad that a good number of units were defective and would not only over-heat but create an unusual humm/buzz. This is heard through the speakers. And no, it is not typical speaker static problems as the result of a grounding or calibration issue. The unit was defective. I returned it, and Amazon.com was great help there. • Best Bang for the Buck in Next-Gen Home Theater Receivers
  I'll start by saying I'm not an Audiophile. I just wanted a decent mid-range receiver that does all the latest lossless audio formats and has 7.1 channels so it's ready to take advantage of BluRay as that format evolves. So my primary focus is on a system that plays audio for movies and video games as it's primary function.
