  • An Entertaining Movie But The Ending Breaks Your Heart
This is the first movie finally to come on dvd to the U.S. and I'm greatly happy to have gotten it. The story intro is pretty much the standard hollow attacking a soul when Ichigo and Rukia destroy it but afterwords strange and unusual spirits unlike hollows are in the living world, at first confused Rukia and Ichigo encounter another Soul reaper by the name of Senna who attacks the unusual spirits who are actually known as blanks. Senna who appears to be a younger soul reaper appears to also have a vague... more info

  • More than I was expecting
Bleach is the story of Ichigo Kurosaki, an obstinate high-school boy who became imbued with the powers of a Soul Reaper. Soul Reapers come from the afterlife, an alternate dimension known as The Soul Society and it is their job to police our world, bring peace to errant souls, and destroy those back go mad, becoming massive soul-devouring monstrosities known as Hollows. Sigh. This is what I hate about anime movies: they bring a new character into the story (usually an ideal "mary sue" character), and make the entire plot revolve around them for a few hours, and then they usually die, so they can't mess with the canon later on. The worst part is how the other characters all develope this hugely detailed and passionate (though usually not in the romantic way. . . ew) relationship with them, doing things completely out of character (like risking their lives for said... more info
