  I am taking the time to review this item in hope it will prevent someone from making a wrong decision. This netbook is EXTREMELY portable. I bought it to carry around my motorcycle trips and use Skype when in wifi range. Battery performance is medium. It should last for 2.5 hs tops.   First let me say my Eee PC (Linux configuration) did all that it claimed.
  Word processor (complete office package), web camera plus support, Internet
  support, Fire fox web brower and more. I wanted to have C++, gcc and octave.
  I was able with little effort to get c++ and gcc but my efforts failed with
  adding octave. I then replace Linux with xp. It worked OK but was very slow.

  I bought this mini laptop because the school asked me to get a low powered laptop for my 7th grader. He only needed MS Word. This was a great choice because the size and weight was easy to carry. • Cute Laptops for a great Price!
  This Laptop is the best! If you want a portable computer then this is the laptop to get. It is small and light weight! I can take it everywhere I go. I love it! Only thing is I had to get a friend to load XP on it since it came with Linux but not that XP is on it I can do anything! I do wish it had 1 PCMCIA slot but what can you do:)
