Resume Writing Coaching now available

Posted by Ric on 28th October 2008

At various times over the past thirty years I have written resumes that have helped people to get job interviews.

A lot of this work was done when I was working as an IT Headhunter and I developed a style of resume that quickly allowed my employer clients to decide if it was worth their time to interview the candidates that I was presenting to them.

Recently I have helped a number of people with their resumes at no cost because they were friends or the children of friends.

A couple of days ago a young man who I had helped with resume and career advice called to thank me because he had landed his dream job and asked if I would help a couple of his friends. This has happened a number of times over the past month. So I have decided to offer Resume Writing Coaching services again.

I look forward to being of service to you.

Your resume business card

Posted by Ric on 24th August 2007

Looking for work, conducting a job search, is in fact a business in its own right. You are selling your services and looking for interviews. Every business person and sales person has a business card and so should you.

And when you are engaged in a job search you need to have a Resume Business Card to hand out to everyone you meet so they know what you are selling. It is a micro resume on a business card.

Your Resume Business Card should have the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your degrees and any certifications
  • Keywords about your IT experience
  • Your email address
  • Your telephone number - it needs to have voice mail
  • A link to your web based resume and profile

This is an especially useful tool to hand-out to all of your family and friends. Afterall you cannot really expect them to remember what your information technology skillset is. And give 5 or 10 copies. Ask them to hand them out to their friends. Build your network of people who know about you.

Free Resume Business Cards

Get free Resume Business Cards. I started using these cards myself and I now recommend them to everyone. It is a no cost means of getting a well printed buiness card.
